Digital Content Storage
As digital electronics continue to replace legacy consumer electronics in the home, the need for digital storage devices will grow. There are many products already in everyday use in the modern home using digital storage such as DVD players, Satellite decoders, P.Cs, Digital Cameras, iPods as well as high end devices such as DVD and Audio servers.
Residential projects now include a large amount of digital storage devices as standard and this is likely to grow as chipset development improves. Most high-end storage devices now have full network capability to further enhance their functionality and ease of use.

There are several high-end servers that serve different lifestyles at different budgets. At the top end, Kaleidscape’s system actually records the DVD and stores the digital content, eliminating the need for a separate changer. The company uses proprietary, military-grade encryption software to protect the content from illegal duplication, and playback is only possible using the Kaleidscape Movie Player.

The base model can hold content of up to 335 DVDs or more than 3700 audio CDs, and serve up to 45 independent audio or video zones.

Another high-end device is the Crestron Audio Server. This unit provides a powerful way to store and enjoy your complete music collection, with the ability to instantly access any album or track from Crestron touch panels, Keypads or computer through out your home.

All servers or Digital Content Storage devices are easy to use, adding to their attractiveness and popularity in today’s market. Most are easily integrated with control systems such as Crestron or AMX.
